Ranjith, accused in several criminal cases, arrested with MDMA and firecrackers

Alappuzha: The District Anti-Narcotics Squad and Haripad Police have seized 3.7 grams of MDMA, banned tobacco products and firecracker stored for sale for Diwali in the room of Ranjith (33), a resident of Puthanthara house in Pallipad Thekkady, Haripad. He is an accused in several criminal and NDPS cases. He was involved in the drug trade. The District Anti-Narcotics Team had come to know about him while investigating the drug trade of the accused in criminal cases in the district.

Based on the confidential information received by District Police Chief M P Mohanachandran IPS, the District Anti-Drug Squad led by Narcotics Cell DySP Pankajaksha and Kayamkulam DySP Binukumar T, Haripad  SHO Muhammed Shafi, SI Jobin, Grade SIs Arun kumar, Rajesh Chandran, ASI Priya and CPO Arun were part of the team that caught the accused. The police seized Diwali firecracker worth lakhs. He did such things with the aim of making money by any means. The police said that strict action will be taken against those involved in illegal activities.
